A modern single-family house in barn form with a gable roof received full cladding made of vertically arranged Dragonwood charred spruce in Thunder Grey colour. The deep, matt graphite shade achieved through the Shou Sugi Ban method emphasises the raw, minimalist form and harmoniously combines with the anthracite roof, photovoltaic panels and black window joinery. A distinctive accent is the openwork screen made of wooden slats shielding the entrance zone.
The investor expected uniform, dark and durable cladding that would give the modern barn form a cohesive, elegant character without the need for regular maintenance.
Dragonwood Thunder Grey charred spruce provided deep, stable colour and natural resistance to fire, moisture, insects and UV radiation, eliminating the need for painting and cyclical maintenance.
